The Maui Ku'ia Estate Cacao Farm and Chocolate Factory are located in Lahaina, overlooking Maui's western shoreline. Our ability to both grow cacao and control factory production gives us a unique influence over the quality of our chocolate! We want to share a little bit about what our process is like with you through these videos, narrated by our founder, owner, CEO and head chocolate maker: Dr. Gunars Valkirs.
Lahaina, Maui , Hawaii
Located in the foothills of the Mauna Kahālāwai (West Maui Mountains), our beautiful cacao farm features over 20 acres of cacao trees. We grow and harvest these cacao pods for our Maui grown chocolate. To get a peek into our harvesting process, watch the virtual tour!
Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii
Our 9,722-square-foot Lahaina facility houses a retail store and cafe, a second floor open-air Ku‘ia Pavilion, and of course our chocolate factory!
The environmentally-friendly factory is 100% solar powered by 300 kW of solar panels, supported by 1050 kWh of Tesla batteries, and a 200 kW standby generator, making it the 2nd largest off-grid commercial facility in Maui. Our goal, between the chocolate factory and the farm, is to have a negative carbon footprint.
