The commercial farm operation is located on the leeward side of the West Maui Mountains in the ahupuaʻa of Kuʻia, covering 50 acres of former sugarcane land leased from Kamehameha Schools.
The Makana Aloha Foundation announced the donation of a $30,000 grant to Imua. Makana is the family foundation of Gunars Valkirs, CEO of Maui Ku’ia Estate Chocolate Inc. and honorary chair with wife, JoRene, of this year’s gala.
